General FAQs

We’ve gathered answers here, but feel free to reach out directly! Give us a call, and our friendly team will be delighted to provide all the information and support you need.
We are a locally owned and operated family business. Unlike large corporate facilities, the owners live right here in Gilbert. We focus on a “person-centered” model. We are proud to say our architecture, staffing, and daily schedules are designed around the individual needs of our residents rather than a rigid institutional routine.
Yes! We understand that pets are family. We allow small pets in our Assisted Living suites (subject to assessment and approval). We also welcome family pets to visit as long as they are leashed and up to date on vaccinations.

Absolutely. We offer several floor plans, including larger suites and companion studios, that are perfect for couples who wish to remain together while receiving the support they need.

We don’t have set visiting hours. This is our residents’ home, and we encourage family and friends to visit whenever they like. Whether it’s an early morning coffee or a late-evening movie, your loved ones are always welcome.

Care and Medical Services

American Orchards is licensed for all three levels of care: Supervisory, Personal, and Directed. This allows our residents to “age in place,” meaning they can stay in our community even if their care needs increase over time.

Yes. We pride ourselves on having licensed nursing staff on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This ensures that a professional is always available to manage medications, coordinate with doctors, and respond to any health concerns immediately.

It means we don’t use a “one size fits all” approach. Our community is divided into smaller “home sections” with shorter hallways and dedicated caregiver teams. This allows our staff to truly get to know each resident’s habits, likes, and preferences, creating a much more personal and comfortable environment.

Memory Care

Our exclusive Pathways of Promise program was designed in collaboration with a gerontologist. It focuses on four pillars of wellness: cognitive function, social interaction, physical health, and spiritual well-being. We use a high staff-to-resident ratio to ensure residents living with Alzheimer’s or dementia receive patient, compassionate, and specialized attention.
Our community features a secure, single-level design with 24/7 video monitoring and a sophisticated resident call system. Our outdoor courtyards are fully enclosed and secured, allowing residents to enjoy the Arizona sunshine and fresh air safely.

Dining and Amenities

Dining and Amenities

Yes. Our culinary team is trained to handle various dietary restrictions, including diabetic, gluten-free, vegetarian, and mechanical soft or pureed diets. We use an iPad ordering system that allows residents to customize their meals based on their preferences.
We offer a robust calendar of “Any-time” activities, including fitness classes (yoga and stretching), social outings, live music, and arts and crafts. In Memory Care, activities are specifically adapted to stimulate cognitive function and sensory engagement.

Costs and Logistics

Pricing is based on the size and style of the suite plus the specific level of care required. Our monthly fee is “all-inclusive” regarding basic services, covering room and board, three daily meals, snacks, housekeeping, laundry, and local transportation. Please contact our team for a personalized quote.
Generally, Medicare and standard health insurance do not cover long-term residential care. However, we do work with many Long-Term Care Insurance providers and can help you navigate those benefits.
No. Our residency agreements are on a month-to-month basis, providing our families with flexibility and peace of mind.
